Rain - A Beatles Tribute

On Sunday we met some family members at Monte Casino where we first had lunch at John Dory's and then went to see the show Rain which is a Tribute to The Beatles.

If you are not a serious Beatles fan then many of the song would be new to you!  However, it was a really good production and there were people of all age groups enjoying the show.

Perfect inspiration from The Brave Girls Club...

Some people might say that walking away from a battle is the cowardly thing to do, but very often, it is the best and bravest thing you could ever do.

How do we know when it’s time to walk away from a battle...whether it is a real human conflict in a relationship, or a battle that is going on inside of our souls that no one else can see ? Our gut usually knows when it’s time to walk away, but we can ask ourselves some important questions to get to the right answers.

When we are feeling tired of fighting and the fighting doesn’t feel right in any way, then we need to step away and at least think about why we are staying in the fight. What exactly is it that we are fighting for? Who or what are we fighting against? What will it mean to “win” the fight? Is the fight causing us to sacrifice things that are more important than the fight, or what “winning” the fight will mean?

A fight that will go on and on whether we are there or not might just be a good fight to walk away from. There are so many conflicts, so much drama and so much negativity in the world that will keep going no matter how hard we fight, or whether we are there or not -- and that damages our life if we stay in the fight. Sometimes it’s best to just smile, walk away, wish everyone the best and walk toward places that use our time, energy, and talents in productive and wonderful ways.

Don’t be afraid to walk away from a fight, a battle, or a conflict when it’s time to walk away, beautiful friend. Listen to your heart, and shut out all of the other voices.

Quiet bravery is sometimes the most noble bravery of all.

Weekend

Gordon really loves weekends as he is usually so stressed out by what goes on during the week.  Most days he is so exhausted he falls asleep on the couch.  I love weekends as well - that's when we get to spend quality time together.

Isn't it just the best feeling when you have things to look forward to?

Here are some of mine:
  • Collecting a parcel from the Post Office later today!
  • The weekend with my hubby - checked the weather this morning and it looks like its going to be cold so we will probably spend the weekend at home relaxing.
  • Getting some more pages done!
  • Reading
  • Women's Day Scrapbooking on 9 August - SOOO excited!
  • Hoping to see my grandbabies (all 3 of them)
  • Hopefully Skype our kids in New Zealand
What are you all upto?

And finally - the quote in my diary today:
"We would accomplish many more things if we did not think of them as impossible" ~ Vince Lombardi

Some inspiration from The Brave Girls Club

Don't be afraid to face your giants. Don't be afraid to stand face to face, toe to toe with what is scaring you the most. Don't be afraid to pull the things that are taunting you in the darkness out into the light to see what they really are.

Our fears, our hurts and our biggest holdbacks very often lose all of their power once they are brought out into the light and to be seen for what they truly are. Many times they are simply figurative bullies, and not much more. Many times our fears have no merit, our hurts are not worth the energy we put into them, and the things holding us back most are things we have outgrown long ago.

We hold on to things for years because we let them linger and grow in the background, in the closets and deep in our hearts....when all we need to do is pull them out, take a look at them....and see if they really should hold ANY more of our energy, our brain space or any of the words that ever come from our mouth again.

It doesn't make us weak to let go of old garbage from our past...whether it's years ago or whether it was yesterday. It doesn't make us weak to forgive and forget and move on.......it is a sign of strength and character and of taking control of our own futures....our own feelings...our own place in the world.

Bring it all out into the light. It's so much nicer, sunnier, warmer, prettier and happier in the light.

Shine on, lovely friend.

xoxo

True Friendship...

True friendship isn't seen with the eyes,
it is felt with the heart when there is trust,
understanding, loyalty and sharing.

True friendship is a rare feeling, but when it is found
it has a profound impact on our well-being, strength and character.

True friendship does not need elaborate gifts or spectacular events
in order to be valuable or valued.

To ensure long-lasting quality and satisfaction true friendship only needs a
few key ingredients:
Undying loyalty,
 unmatched understanding,
unsurpassed trust,
deep and soulful secrets
and
endless sharing.

These ingredients, mixed with personalty and a sense of humor,
can make a friendship last a lifetime!

This is just a thank you, my friends for all the wonderful and colorful
SPECIAL INGREDIENTS
you've brought to my life!
